Regulations for Sokn Camping
Use of Caravan
Caravans are only permitted for recreational purposes as a holiday home, not as a permanent residence. You must have a registered address in Norway that serves as your primary residence. The maximum number of overnight stays per year in the caravan is 200
Parking
Parking is only allowed in designated shared parking areas, or on your own plot. Boat trailers and similar items can be parked on your own plot, but are not permitted in parking spaces or open areas.
Peace and Quiet
There must be quiet on the campsite after 11:00 PM. Between 11:00 PM and 7:00 AM, driving to or from your pitch is also not permitted.
From April 1st to September 30th, noisy work on pitches is not permitted on weekends (Saturday and Sunday). During the summer holidays (following school holidays), all construction work is completely stopped throughout the site. Repeated breaches of this rule may lead to termination of the rental agreement.
Dogs
Dogs must be kept on a leash throughout the campsite and on Sokn and neighboring islands all year round. Dog waste MUST be picked up and disposed of in the waste container.
The Pitch
Must be kept neat and tidy. Caravans and any structures on the pitch must be maintained. The area around the caravan and terrace must be kept clean and free of building debris and other clutter. Lawns on pitches must be mowed and maintained. Lawn mowing is not permitted after 7:00 PM or on Sundays. TV/satellite dishes or similar items exceeding the height of the caravan are not permitted.
Water and Drainage
Only pitches for static caravans in field 2 have installed water and drainage. Any other connections to water and drainage are not approved by us. If water and drainage are nevertheless connected to caravans other than static caravan pitches, this is done at your own risk, and any problems or faults must be resolved by you at your own expense.
Fire Safety
All caravans must be equipped with a fire extinguisher (powder extinguisher, minimum 6kg) and a smoke detector. All electrical work must be documented. Open fires are not permitted at caravan pitches (this includes fire pits). Besides the fire hazard, the smoke can also quickly become unpleasant for neighbors. Grilling with charcoal (including in fire pits) is allowed.
Electrical System
Connection to power outlets at the campsite must be made with approved, grounded cables designed for outdoor use (minimum IP44). Extension cords and cable reels intended for indoor use are not permitted. The electrical system in the caravan must be in good technical condition and installed according to current regulations. In case of suspected faults or expansion of the system, work must be carried out by a certified electrician.
Distance Requirements
There must be a 4-meter zone between all pitches. This zone is intended to serve as a fire safety zone. This applies above, beside, and below the pitch. Within this fire safety zone, terraces are permitted, but no part of the terrace may exceed 50 cm in height. If there is a height difference between pitches, measurements will be taken from the ground level of the neighboring plot. The zone that each individual must adhere to is the red zone (fire safety zone) in the illustration below. There must be 2 meters to a neighboring plot when measured from the side, and 4 meters to a neighboring plot on the lower side. Fire safety distance requirements apply to all permanent installations exceeding 50 cm in height. This also applies to caravans and awnings.
