    Utstein Monastery

    Norway's only preserved medieval monastery is located on Klosterøy in Rennesøy municipality. From Sokn Camping, it takes about 15 minutes to drive there. The monastery offers historical experiences and beautiful surroundings.

    Kings grave at Sokn

    There is a marked hiking trail on Sokn within walking distance from the campsite. There are great views of the landscape and the sea from the entire circular trail, especially at Soknakrossen.

    Pulpit Rock

    Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock) is one of Norway's most famous natural attractions, offering spectacular views of Lysefjorden from its 604-meter-high mountain plateau. From Sokn Camping, it's approximately a 55-minute drive to the starting point of the hike.

    Bru Cultural Trail

    Bru is the neighboring island to Sokn and is within walking and cycling distance from the campsite. Where there are no dedicated bike or walking paths, the route follows quiet country roads. Approximately 8 km round trip from Sokn Camping.

    Ørnhaug Activity Park

    Just 3 km from Sokn Camping, you'll find Ørnhaug, featuring many animals, playgrounds, and barbecue facilities. Bring the kids and enjoy yourselves :)

    Åmøy Alpaca Farm

    Åmøy Alpaca Farm, located on Vestre Åmøy just 5 minutes from Sokn Camping. Try an alpaca walk for a unique experience.

    Åmøyfjellet

    A very short mountain hike with fantastic views. Cross the Åmøy bridge, and you're almost ready for the 81-meter climb up Åmøyfjellet, offering great views over the city fjord.

    Mastravarden

    Mastravarden offers great views over Ryfylke and the sea. The hike is suitable for the whole family and takes approximately one hour round trip. From Sokn Camping, it's only a 10-minute drive to the starting point.

    Fjøløy Fort

    Fjåløy Fort is a former coastal fort from World War II, now a beautiful outdoor recreation area with bunkers, cannon positions, and trails in a stunning coastal landscape. From Sokn Camping, it's approximately 12 km, about a 12-minute drive, to the parking lot at the fort.

    Kongeparken

    Kongeparken is a popular amusement park in Ålgård, known for its exciting attractions and family-friendly activities. From Sokn Camping, it's approximately 50 km to Kongeparken, which is about a 45-minute drive.

    Stavanger city center

    Stavanger city center offers a variety of cultural experiences, shopping opportunities, and a vibrant nightlife. From Sokn Camping, it takes about 20 minutes to drive to the city center. Alternatively, bus no. 10 runs from Sokn Bus Station to Stavanger city center several times daily.
