Guidelines and information for connecting to the network at Sokn Camping

For the best results, we recommend installing a network cable directly into your caravan.

If your caravan does not already have a network cable installed, it is the caravan owner's responsibility to install it. This involves identifying the nearest connection point (please contact us for assistance) and planning the cable route. The caravan owner must dig a small trench or slot and run the cable from the connection point into the caravan. Please use a suitable Cat6 cable designed for outdoor use, and if the cable is to be buried, place it inside a protective pipe or hose.

Once the cable is installed, we will visit to terminate the ends and connect the cable for you.

You are only permitted to connect the cable to 'Ubiquiti Unifi' equipment. If the cable is connected to any other device (such as your own router), the connection will be blocked.

The simplest method is to connect the cable directly to a 'Ubiquiti Unifi' access point (see examples below). The access point draws power from the cable, eliminating the need for a separate power supply. This setup provides excellent wireless coverage within your caravan. If you need to connect your own wired equipment, you must purchase a 'Ubiquiti Unifi' switch and inform us so we can configure it accordingly.

All 'Unifi' access points from Ubiquiti will work. Example: https://www.dustinhome.no/group/hardware/nettverk/tradlost-nettverk/aksesspunkter
